    Urmi Group Kicks Off SBTi Program at Fakhruddin Textile Mills Ltd. – Leading the Way for Decarbonization in Bangladesh.

    We are proud to announce the successful launch of our Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) at Fakhruddin Textile Mills Ltd., a Strategic Business Unit of Urmi Group. This pioneering session, a first-of-its-kind in Bangladesh, sets the stage for our global decarbonization efforts, fully aligned with the Paris Agreement.

    Internal Stakeholders included representatives from:

    Supply Chain, Merchandising, Sustainability, Transport, Procurement, Maintenance, Production, and Compliance departments.

    External Stakeholders:

    Representatives from our valued buyer partners: M&S, Auchan, and Seidensticker.

    The program was facilitated by Engineering Resources International (ERI) Ltd., guiding our internal teams on how to establish and achieve science-based emissions reduction targets that align with the 1.5°C climate pathway. Our Director Ms. Shamarukh Fakhruddin, inaugurated the event virtually, reinforcing our commitment to building a sustainable future.
