LafargeHolcim Bangladesh witnessed a significant upswing in its financial performance for 2023, with a 20% surge in sales and a notable 34% increase in profits. The company attributes this success to its diversified portfolio. Bolstered by the profit growth, the board of directors has recommended a higher cash dividend of 50% for shareholders, up from 48% in the previous year.
In 2023, the multinational cement producer achieved sales amounting to Tk 2,838 crore, reflecting a 20% YoY increase, while profits reached Tk 594 crore, marking a robust 34% growth. Iqbal Chowdhury, CEO of LafargeHolcim Bangladesh, emphasized the strength of their diverse product portfolio, strategic presence, and success driven by innovative products, high-value solutions, digital integration, and new channels.
Looking ahead to 2024, Chowdhury expressed optimism for continued profitable growth and a swift transformation, aspiring to establish leadership in innovative and sustainable building solutions in the country. In the previous year, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh reported earnings per share of Tk 5.12, compared to Tk 3.83 in the preceding year.
As of the latest update, stocks of LafargeHolcim Bangladesh, listed since 2003 with a paid-up capital of Tk 1,161 crore, rose by 0.13% to Tk 74.50. The company stands out as the only green-field company listed with the stock exchange.
