EDOTCO Bangladesh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tiger New Energy Ltd. to deploy sustainable power systems that foster greener connectivity and broaden clean energy access across Bangladesh.

This partnership represents a significant shift from conventional energy use to integrated renewable energy solutions in telecom infrastructure. It aims not only to ensure uninterrupted telecom services but also to support Bangladesh’s national sustainability agenda by reducing carbon emissions and enhancing energy equity.

Under this collaboration, the two companies will pilot a range of innovative services—including battery backup systems, swapping stations, and charging solutions—all designed to reduce reliance on fossil fuels while extending the reach of clean energy to surrounding communities. The initiative aligns with EDOTCO’s commitment to sustainable connectivity and inclusive development.

One of the key features of the collaboration is the introduction of Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS), a subscription-based battery backup model that will provide uninterrupted power to telecom towers, particularly during grid failures. In addition, Battery Swapping Stations (BSS) will be installed at EDOTCO tower sites to support electric mobility—especially for two and three-wheelers—thereby cutting down charging time and advancing the shared energy ecosystem. Battery Charging Station Systems (BCSS) will also be established to offer convenient access to electric vehicle charging points, catering particularly to users of rickshaws and easy bikes.

“This partnership is more than just a technological advancement—it is a bold step towards a greener, more inclusive digital future,” said Mr Sunil Isaac, Country Managing Director of EDOTCO Bangladesh. “By integrating clean energy with smart infrastructure, we are enabling sustainable connectivity and delivering real impact to the communities we serve.”

Ms Nicole Mao, Co-Founder and CEO of Tiger New Energy, remarked, “Our collaboration with EDOTCO is about powering people. These innovative solutions offer new pathways to affordable clean energy, reduce carbon emissions, and empower everyday citizens to participate in a greener future. This is shared progress in action.”

This first-of-its-kind initiative in Bangladesh underscores EDOTCO’s leadership in sustainable telecom infrastructure. By aligning technology with environmental responsibility, the partnership paves the way for a new era of resilient, inclusive, and climate-conscious connectivity across the country.
