Bata Bangladesh, one of the country’s leading footwear brands, has reported a 20% year-on-year sales growth for the third quarter of 2025 (July–September), supported by continued consumer demand and an expanding product portfolio. The strong turnover reflects the brand’s resilience and relevance in a competitive retail environment.

Despite this solid sales performance, Bata’s profit margins came under pressure due to rising raw material prices, higher production costs, and an unfavourable sales mix. The company noted that the impact of global commodity inflation and reduced consumer affordability in the discretionary footwear segment affected overall profitability.

In response, Bata Bangladesh is focusing on strategic cost optimisation, improving sourcing efficiency, and enhancing operational productivity to restore profit margins by the end of the year. The company also continues to invest in new product development, retail transformation, and omni-channel expansion to strengthen its market position.

Commenting on the quarterly performance, Mr. Debabrata Mukherjee, Managing Director of Bata Bangladesh, said, “Our consistent growth reflects the enduring trust of Bangladeshi consumers in Bata’s promise of quality and comfort. While macroeconomic factors have posed challenges, we remain committed to delivering stylish, affordable, and innovative footwear that brings delight to consumers across every touchpoint.”

Bata’s recent initiatives have focused on expanding its Sneaker, Comfort, and Premium categories, successfully attracting younger and more fashion-conscious customers. The company has also strengthened its digital and e-commerce platforms, ensuring greater accessibility and convenience for customers across the country.

With a strategy built around innovation, consumer insight, and retail excellence, Bata Bangladesh aims to maintain its leadership in the footwear industry. The brand plans to continue investing in customer experience, store modernisation, and digital engagement to drive long-term sustainable growth and reinforce its position as one of Bangladesh’s most trusted and iconic lifestyle brands.
